Our Company

We Started with a Single Overflowing Folder

Legacywell exists because too many families reach a significant moment in life and find their records in disarray. We help change that — one household at a time.

Our Story

How Legacywell Came to Be

Legacywell began in Bangkok in 2019, when its founder, Sophia Kanchanarat, spent three months helping her mother work through a large wooden cabinet of papers accumulated over four decades. There were property documents alongside birthday cards, insurance folders mixed with school reports, and a small envelope of photographs nobody could quite place. By the end, they had a working index. The experience showed how much clarity that kind of order brought — and how little help existed for families trying to do the same.

The idea that followed was straightforward: build a small, careful practice that helps households bring that same clarity to their own records and belongings. Not a legal firm, not an archive, not a moving company — simply a steady hand for families who want their papers in order and their meaningful items properly noted down.

Since then, Legacywell has worked with families across Bangkok and the wider metropolitan area, each with a different collection of papers, a different set of items that carry meaning, and a different amount of time to devote to the process. What they share is a recognition that having an organised record system is a form of care for the people who will eventually need to navigate it.

Our team is small by design. Every engagement is handled personally, and we do not take on more than we can give proper attention to. That means some families wait a short while to begin, but it also means that when we start, we are fully present for the work.

Our Mission

"Every family deserves to know where their records are — and what they mean."

Care over speed

We move at the pace the household needs, not the pace of a checklist.

Discretion as default

Family records are private. We handle them as such, without exception.

Clarity as the outcome

The work is done when anyone in the family can find what they need without asking us.

How We Work

Our Standards of Practice

These are not policy documents — they are habits the team holds to in every household we enter.

Privacy by Default

We do not photograph, copy, or remove original documents. All work happens within the household. Client information is never discussed externally.

Careful Handling

Older documents and delicate items are handled with gloves and placed on clean surfaces. We treat fragile papers with the same respect as the contents they record.

Agreed Scope Before We Start

We confirm the scope and expected outcomes with every client before the first session. There are no surprises about what we will and will not do.

Plain Language Throughout

We do not use jargon in workshops or in the inventories we produce. If a label or explanation could confuse a family member, we rewrite it.

Review Before Finalising

Every inventory or index we produce is reviewed with the client before it is considered finished. The family decides when the work is complete, not us.

No Advice Outside Our Scope

We organise and catalogue. We do not offer legal, financial, or administrative advice on any matter, even when families ask. We refer those questions to appropriate professionals.

Our Approach

Document Organisation as an Act of Preparation

Families accumulate records across decades. Property documents, vehicle ownership papers, insurance folders, personal identification, photographs, school reports, and correspondence all find their way into drawers, cabinets, and boxes that rarely get reviewed. When the moment comes to share that information with someone — a family member, a financial institution, or simply the next generation — the disorganisation becomes a practical problem.

Legacywell works with the materials a family already has. We do not recommend systems purchased elsewhere, we do not use proprietary software, and we do not impose a structure that only we understand. What we build is a simple, labelled system that any member of the household can follow and maintain independently.

The keepsake inventory side of our work addresses a different kind of record. Meaningful items — a piece of jewellery that belonged to a grandparent, a collection of letters, a set of handmade objects — are often the hardest to describe and the most likely to be misunderstood by the people who eventually receive them. Cataloguing them with a brief note of their history and significance is one of the more straightforward ways a family can pass on context alongside the items themselves.

Our work is grounded in the belief that being organised is not about minimalism or efficiency — it is about consideration for the people who will need to navigate your records after you. Legacywell provides the practical support to make that consideration visible.
